We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Connection Design Engineer to join our structural engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing structural steel connections, performing engineering calculations, preparing detailed connection drawings, and coordinating with project teams to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Design structural steel connections in accordance with applicable design codes, project specifications, and engineering standards.
• Prepare structural connection design calculations using Mathcad.
• Develop detailed connection sketches and fabrication details using AutoCAD.
• Review structural drawings to identify connection requirements and gather all necessary design information.
• Interpret design intent and coordinate with structural engineers, detailers, and project teams.
• Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) to resolve design discrepancies, missing information, and technical queries.
• Ensure connection designs are practical, economical, and suitable for fabrication and erection.
• Verify that all calculations and drawings meet project quality standards and client requirements.
• Maintain proper documentation of calculations, sketches, RFIs, and design revisions.
• Coordinate with internal teams to support timely completion of project deliverables.
