A Plumbing Design Engineer is responsible for designing safe, efficient, and code-compliant plumbing systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Their role combines technical expertise, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with architects and contractors to ensure water supply, drainage, and waste systems function seamlessly.

Key Roles of a Plumbing Design Engineer

  • System Design & Planning
    • Develop detailed plumbing layouts, schematics, and blueprints using CAD/Revit.
    • Plan water supply, drainage, and waste management systems.
    • Perform hydraulic calculations to determine pipe sizes, flow rates, and pressure requirements.
  • Collaboration
    • Work closely with architects, civil engineers, and construction teams to integrate plumbing systems into overall building designs.
    • Coordinate with HVAC engineers to avoid conflicts in mechanical spaces
