We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Engineer to support the execution of a major pharmaceutical facility project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing structural steel engineering, fabrication, welding coordination, quality control, and site erection activities to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and coordinate structural steel design and construction drawings.
• Supervise fabrication, assembly, and erection of structural steel works.
• Coordinate with fabrication workshops, subcontractors, consultants, and project teams.
• Monitor welding activities and ensure compliance with approved WPS, PQR, and applicable codes.
• Review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection drawings.
• Oversee steel installation, alignment, bolting, grouting, and structural inspections.
• Coordinate NDT activities including UT, MT, PT, and RT where applicable.
• Ensure all steel works comply with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Manage construction progress, resolve technical issues, and support project scheduling.
• Prepare technical reports, inspection records, and as-built documentation.
Requirements
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in structural steel engineering or industrial construction.
• Proven experience with pharmaceutical, petrochemical, oil & gas, semiconductor, power plant, or modular industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, welding processes, steel erection, and quality control.
• Familiarity with WPS, PQR, welding inspections, and NDT methods.
• Ability to review steel fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and erection drawings.
• Knowledge of relevant structural steel design and fabrication standards (e.g., AISC, Eurocode, BS, AWS, or equivalent).
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams in EPC or industrial projects is preferred.
